Q
What makes On Target Fitness different?

We are driven by our mission to change lives through fitness.  We do this by relentlessly pursuing what WORKS.  This sounds really basic but unfortunately much of the fitness industry gets this wrong.  The average person is let down by an industry that too often employs dishonest marketing and pressure sales tactics.  Many places pursue whatever is hot or cool, not what works.  Many places would rather seem “tough”, even if that means having an appalling injury rate.  Many places only cater to those who are already in shape, and let down people who are new to fitness.  We are here to change your life by getting you results.  We want you to be fitter and healthier than you have ever been.  It drives everything we do and it is why we get up in the morning.

Q
Is this Crossfit?

Short answer, no it is not.  Longer answer: We neither despise nor worship Crossfit.  We have some similarities and some key differences from most Crossfit gyms.  Crossfit is a sport, meaning it is a competition and competitions are about going faster, heavier, harder to win.  We do functional TRAINING here.  Training is more about cause and effect, stimulus and response, and what results you want.  We believe you need to master basics of movement before progressing to advanced technical lifts.  We believe that more is not better.  Our programming is written to TRAIN you to build muscle, burn fat, and to move well.  It isn’t written just to be tough or “smoke you”.  While we post a monthly conditioning challenge, the vast majority of our workouts are not a competition.  Our coaches hold degrees in related field, high level certification, and participate in constant education of their craft.  They didn’t get certified in one day.  Because of our high quality coaching and non competitive culture we have an extremely low injury rate.  If you like full body functional training with kettle bells, ropes, barbells, and other fun toys in a great community of like minded people, you will like that about us.  If when trying Crossfit you realized you would like a little more emphasis on training smarter, proper form, and not getting injured, you are really going to like us.

Q
What is the difference between Team Training and Small Group PT?

Team Training is our larger group setting that includes TRX, Kick Box, Boot Camp, and Yoga.  It is a comprehensive program written by the coaching staff collaboratively.  It is designed to generally train you to build muscle, burn fat, and move well.  Small Group PT sessions are limited to groups of 4.  In these sessions you are doing custom written 12 week strength and conditioning programs based on your needs and your goals.  Small Group PT is where you get more in depth coaching, skill acquisition, and strength gains.  We recommend most our 2X a week Small Group PT membership.  This membership also includes unlimited team training so for one price you can get 2 custom written workouts a week plus unlimited larger group workouts.  It is the best blend of customized coaching and variety.

Q
When should I do Drop Ins vs Month to Month vs Annual Membership?

Doing an annual membership makes sense for the vast majority of our customers.  We aren’t trying to lock anybody down with these memberships.  We can simply do much more for you, at a better price, if we know you are going to be sticking around for a while.  It is your commitment to us but it is also very much our commitment to you.  We take it seriously.  Typically if you plan on coming 2 or more times a week to team training, a membership will make sense.  If you know you’ll come two or more times a week but don’t want to commit to year our month to month option only requires a 30 day notice of cancellation but costs a bit more.  Drop ins are best used as a way to figure out if we are going to be a good fit.  Here is the problem with planning on doing random drop ins every once in a while: What we do works as a system.  Doing random drop ins is sort of like taking random french lessons sporadically vs committing to meeting your french tutor twice a week.  You won’t get the same results from random drop ins.

Q
Do I need to be in workout clothes for a strategy session?

Nope!  Come as is.  We will be giving you a quick tour, talking about your goals, and the figuring out the best way for you to achieve them.  This isn’t a workout and it isn’t a sales meeting.  Typically with the owner himself, our strategy session is an honest conversation about you, what you are looking for in a gym, what you hope to accomplish, and what we recommend to get you there.  It is a no pressure way to see the gym and discuss your options.  You can call 603-563-0738 to book a strategy session anytime!

Q
Can I bring a friend to my strategy session?

Yes!

Q
Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

We DO for Small Group PT sessions and we DO NOT for Team Training Sessions.  Spaces in our Small Group PT sessions are extremely limited so we require clients to sign up ahead of time.  We also require a cancellation within 24 hours of the Small Group PT session otherwise clients will be charged for the session.

Q
What is a Fitness Coach?

In so many words a Fitness Coach is a highly trained and highly educated expert.  Our coaches hold degrees in fitness, nutrition, or related fields.  They hold high level certifications and invest heavily in continuing education.  They are knowledgeable in fitness, nutrition, and holding clients accountable to their goals.  This is their career; not a passing hobby.  They did not get certified in 1 day.  They CARE about YOU.

Q
Are there any specials or discounts?

Basically no.  We do have small discounts for couples, military, and students but we don’t do the typical gym thing with our prices.  We aren’t going to run a “special” that you better take right now (even though we will run the same special in a week) and we don’t haggle on our membership prices.  We view these tactics as dishonest.  Our coaches have dedicated their lives to your health and fitness.  They deserve to make a fair living for their skills and that is why we charge what we charge.
